I should have known that before I ordered this book, but I didn’t. There were quite a few cases of people using I have really mixed feelings about this book, which are basically identical to my mixed feelings about the various authors and their opinions on Musashi’s Dokkodo precepts. The musashk “modern meaning” walkijg the book is, unfortunately, often without reference to the context the book came out of. For example, when faced with the precept the way of walking alone musashi “Do not, under any circumstances, depend on a partial feeling” one of the five contributors advises not to depend on a ‘complete’ feeling either, while another the way of walking alone musashi to think that “knowledge is power” is a close enough analog and gives their thoughts on that axiom instead.
